Balance and Biodiversity
Regenerative agriculture is a set of organic, ecologically-driven farming practices that enhance our ecosystem into a natural state of health and harmony by working in partnership with nature. This is focused on a comprehensive farming method dedicated to revitalizing soil health, enhancing biodiversity, and harnessing natural processes.
The benefits of regenerative farming are widespread. Farming this way increases biodiversity, restores soil and plant microbiome, and eliminates the need to introduce toxic pesticides, herbicides, and GMOs into our soils, waters, and grapevines. Equally important are the broader environmental benefits. Regenerative agriculture has the potential to reverse climate change by capturing carbon in the soil and removing it from the atmosphere.
Meet Martin Crompton, our Vineyard Director, also known as our Regenerative Solutions Provider. He plays a critical role in leading our vineyard team and identifying and implementing our innovative vineyard practices and precision agriculture solutions.

Regenerative organic agriculture not only maintains resources but improves them. With only about 60 years of farmable topsoil remaining at current conventional practices, nothing less will do.
Soil Health & Biodiversity
We enhance soil health through crop rotation, cover cropping, and no-tillage methods. Additionally, our farm integrates livestock, specifically 400 Katahdin sheep, which naturally control weeds and fertilize the land.
Composting & Vermiculture
Our composting operations utilize leaves and tree ramial from local towns, processed through various methods like windrows and aerated static compost beds. We also have a dedicated vermiculture lab housing 100,000 red wiggler worms, producing rich soil inputs and natural fertilizers.
Union Grove Farm is proud to be the first U.S. vineyard certified by Regenified, led by industry pioneers Gabe Brown and Dr. Allen Williams. This certification assures that our grapes are regeneratively grown to the highest standards.
